Reforger: 1981

 

First idea for a book idea began to coalesce during a training exercise in Yakima Desert in Washington State. I had just spent two light infantry years in South Rainier Training Area [otherwise known as "Paradise"] wondering how many Hemingway wannabes had put pen to paper describing the intricacies of tripping through the woods with an M67 Recoilless Rifle strapped on a rucksack.

 

My unit had just returned from REFORGER (Returning Forces to Germany) ...

 

Anyway, dude beat me to the punch with Team Yankee ...
